Επικοινωνίες και μεταφορές στην προβιομηχανική περίοδο [Communications and Transport in the Pre-industrial Period]

This volume presents the papers from the XIth History and Techniques Symposium on communications and transport in the pre-industrial period, organised by the Monemvasiotikos Homilos and the ETBA Cultural Foundation, in July 1998. At this meeting, the results of studies related to overland and sea communications, commerce, shipping and transport in the pre-industrial period were announced. Ancient and more recent road networks were presented, along with various transport means of the past, lighthouses, travelers’ living conditions and other related issues that make up the picture of communication and transport conditions from Antiquity until the industrial revolution.
