The kingfisher, one of Europe’s most colourful birds, comes to life on the candle, bringing the magic of Stymphalia’s lake landscape. After Easter, it can be removed from the candle and, with a gentle bend at its base, transformed into a small tabletop ornament. The candle is created by Aluminati exclusively for the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation. The kingfisher’s dazzling cobalt-blue back is often all one sees as this small bird flies swiftly over the water. Its proportionally large beak serves as an effective spear for catching fish.
