This
book covers the Italian rule (1912-1947) in the city of Rhodes, and issues such
as the management of monuments and their surrounding areas, the heritage
landscape of the Old Town, the inclusion of monuments and modern buildings in
existing urban planning administrations as well as the transition from the
concept of the monument as a unit to the concept of the monument as an
ensemble. The author is an architect with a PhD from the National Technical
University of Athens and works at the Restoration Department of the Ministry of
Culture and Tourism in Greece.
